Shriram Ramanathan

ramanathan_thShriram Ramanathan is the inaugural Rodkin-Weintraub Chair in Engineering in the College of Engineering at Rutgers University. He is a member of the Graduate Faculty in MSE and ECE and Affiliated Faculty in Physics. Previously, he has served as a faculty member at Purdue University (School of Engineering, MSE, ECE (Courtesy) and Harvard University (Applied Physics, SEAS) and as a member of research staff at Components Research, Intel. Dr. Ramanathan serves as an editor / editorial board member for various journals publishing in physical sciences, is a member of the Board of Visitors for Massachusetts Institute of Technology Corporation, and has led / co-organized numerous symposia sponsored by organizations such as Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Materials Research Society, American Physical Society, ICMR-UCSB. Research in his group is highly collaborative across Neuroscience, Natural Sciences and Engineering. Alumni from the group hold tenure-track positions at major research Universities across USA and abroad, leadership roles in industry, national laboratories, and have received recognition for their research scholarship (e.g. Forbes 30 under 30, MIT TR35) and some have gone on to create startups in novel materials technologies.
